Denali Migration

In honor of hearing my first Swainson’s thrush in Denali for the season, it seems right to repost “Denali Migration,” the first Professional Nomads article I ever wrote. This definitely is not proof that I like birds.

  1. Dear Dorothy,
It was fun to read your reflections on migration. I don’t remember reading that article before. I too am amazed at the bird that goes from one pole to another each year.

Was the picture of the bears one you took the summer I visited? (2007, in case you’ve forgotten.) It looks like the bears we saw when riding the bus, and crossing the dry stream bed.

    Love reading your work!

    Mom
